I have just finished reading the LifeClass book today. I can't hardly even finish one book in a year, but this time, it's going to be different! Last January 7, our church, Manila Community Church has decided to take on this LifeClass challenge. It's a book by Pastor Cesar Castellanos of G12 vision from Bogota, Columbia.
This book has changed my perception of LIFE, and my walk with God. This is not your ordinary book wherein you'll just read 1 or 2 pages and that's it. That will make me doze off! Other Christian books lack impact and will bore you to death!
This book is different! It has an application, realization in every topic, and Bible reading at the end. Every lesson and page will directly speak to you, and will make you realized what's lacking, what needs to be done and will give your Faith to God its foundation. I even created graphics posts of what I learned from LifeClass in Canva that I, later on, upload on Facebook!
My favorite topic is Day 40! It has been a blessing for me. It has taught me how to genuinely speak to God. That when you speak to him, you should speak as if you are talking someone that you are really close with. No reservations and pretentions. Be open, be vulnerable as you can be. That's how God would like us when we're speaking to him thru prayer. Forget about your prayer lists and templated rituals that we often hear from other churches. Prayer should be as real as your COMMUNICATION with your parents or love one
(or, more than that!) If you want more of this, get your own LifeClass book! haha!
At the LIVE the LESSON part, it asked me to "Write a list of 3 needs you have that you want God to help you this week. Pray for them, and write down next to each one the date you receive the answer to your prayers" I was in need of funds (5k to be exact) to pay for my bills and was also getting anxious about the debt that we owe from a friend. I was hesitant to write the list on my notebook at first because I told myself that I was only reading a book. I can just only lift my needs in prayer instead. But since it's part of the challenge, I didn't question the application part anymore and wrote the list. Of course, in every prayer, there's a corresponding ACTION. On that day as well I've decided to sell my dependable desktop PC that I've used for almost 5 years when I was into Freelancing. Since I'm not into online English teaching (for the meantime), might as well sell my good ole friend. I thought twice of selling it because It has sentimental value, but the time has come to bid my goodbyes. Wifey, by the way, have recently purchased a laptop last year, so there's nothing to lose!
After 3 days, my churchmate have decided to buy my desktop PC after posting it on FB, and the funds that I need for the bills were all answered. It was just in time! Moreover, my friend sent wifey a message that we can just pay her in installment. What a relief!
All I can say that this book has A LOT to offer! I got to be honest that I missed four to five topics ( I will not blame my job on missed topics, we all have 24 hours a day, and there's no such thing as busy), but I make sure to start where I have left off. The same thing in Life, you have to KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
I think other churches should also take this challenge. We should make a habit of challenging ourselves to the next level, And not remain in the same place and situation as you were last year. STEP UP!
There's no other place but to go up
